The Andaman and Nicobar Islands archipelago has numerous beautiful islands and is known for its marine life and wonderful natural sceneries. With all these beautiful amenities and leftovers of the previous British Government, Ross Island held an extraordinary appeal for the tourists. The island was named after Daniel Ross, a British marine assessor. Ross Island is presently renamed as the "Netaji Shubash Chandra Bose Dweep" by the Prime Minister of India in 2018. It is just 5 Kms from the Water Sports Complex, Port Blair, making it one of the simplest inter-island to visit during your Andamans tour packages or Andaman honeymoon packages.
Ross Island carries a touch of history to the table that makes your excursion complete. In pre-independence India, this island was a British colony and it was used for administrative activities. It was called Paris of the East and even now you can discover the leftovers of that pioneer period. A tour on this island brings you down to the street of wistfulness and furthermore offers you a break from the messiness of occupied traveler areas in Andaman.
The greenery of this island is astounding, and the number of inhabitants like peacocks, birds, and deers on the island will stun you as well. The remains of a Church, the cellular jail, and a few different structures will surprise you. Presently, the Indian Navy maintains the previous British Administrative Headquarters and its various historic remnants. There is the Smritika Museum (Indian Navy) which is well kept up and the other attraction for tourist is a sound and light show which starts around 5:00 PM. It happens each evening except Wednesday and other Government holidays.
