Saigon, officially known as Ho Chi Minh City is Vietnam's largest city and a vibrant cultural hub. It boasts a rich history marked by French colonial architecture, bustling markets, and diverse neighborhoods. Key landmarks include the iconic Saigon Notre-Dame Basilica and the historic Saigon Central Post Office. The city's dynamic atmosphere is enhanced by its lively street food scene and the bustling energy of areas like the Old Quarter and Chinatown (Cho Lon). Saigon serves as a gateway to Vietnam's historical sites and natural beauty, making it an essential destination for travelers.
DAY 1- SAIGON ARRIVAL
Arrive in Saigon City, where our guide will greet you and transfer you to your hotel for check-in. In the afternoon, embark on a half-day city tour, starting with the exterior of the Saigon Notre-Dame Basilica, a neo-Roman cathedral built by the French using materials imported from Marseilles. Next, visit the Saigon Central Post Office, designed and constructed in the early 20th century by the renowned French architect Gustave Eiffel. Finally, explore the Cho Lon area, also known as the city's Chinatown, and visit the Jade Emperor Temple (Phuoc Hai), a unique Taoist temple established by the Cantonese community in 1909.
DAY 2- SAIGON FULL-DAY CU CHI TUNNEL AND CITY TOUR
After breakfast, visit the Cu Chi Tunnels, located 75 km northwest of Ho Chi Minh City. These hand-dug tunnels served as a crucial underground base for the Viet Cong during the wars against the French and Americans, featuring interconnected passageways that included meeting rooms, kitchens, and emergency exits. After the tour, return to the city for leisure time. In the afternoon, explore the War Remnants Museum, which displays extensive exhibits on Vietnam’s wars with the French and Americans. You’ll then have free time to shop at Ben Thanh Market.
DAY 3- SAIGON – FULL DAY MY THO (MEKONG DELTA)
After breakfast, depart for the Mekong Delta, the world’s largest delta and Vietnam's primary rice-producing region. Upon arriving in My Tho City, the capital of Tien Giang Province, board a boat and navigate through the intricate canals, observing local daily life and the lush landscapes. Visit Unicorn Island, where you can stroll through verdant orchards, sample fresh fruits, and enjoy traditional Southern music. Continue to Ben Tre, the second delta province, to see local villagers making coconut candy in a rural workshop. Take a brief walk and try a ride in a horse-drawn carriage. Further along, visit beekeeping households to taste fresh honey and honey tea. Return to Ho Chi Minh City for some leisure time before heading back to Saigon.
DAY 4- SAIGON DEPARTURE
After breakfast, you will have the day free to relax and explore at your own pace until it’s time for your transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
