DAY 1 - BARCELONA
Arrive Barcelona and meet with our representative at the airport and transfer to the hotel. Balance of the day at leisure.
DAY 2 - BARCELONA CITY TOUR
Breakfast at the hotel. Pick up from your hotel for a morning Highlights tour of Barcelona. We will start with a sightseeing that will take you up the elegant Paseo de Gracia, where you will see the most famous Gaudi houses, casa Battló and La casa Mila (La Pedrera) as well as other majestic buildings of the Modernism era. You will drive by the Olympic Village, the Olympic Port, the beach and the fisherman’s quarter, called Barceloneta, the Port Vell, Plaza (square) de Colon with its famous Columbus monument. We will continue the visit driving up Montjuïc where you will enjoy a cable car ride with precious views of the city. We will continue our Montjuïc visit passing by the sports facilities built for the 1992 Olympic Games: the Lluis Companys stadium, the Palau Sant Jordi, the Olympic swimming pool Picornell until we get to the Spanish Village. During the drive back to the city centre you will be able to admire the Venetian Towers, the Montjuïc fountains, the MNAC and theCC,Las Arenas rebuilt over the ancient Plaza de Toros.
We will arrive at the Plaza de Catalunya, the starting point of the guided walking tour of the old city centre. Our guide will take you to the Gothic Cathedral, threw the narrow street of the Gothic quarter and plaza Sant Jaume where the City hall is located and the headquarters of the Catalonian government.
In the afternoon half day tour to Montserrat. The mountain of Montserrat which rises majestically to 4,051 feet (1,236 meter). You will go up to Montserrat with Gog – Wheel Train. It is a 15-minute trip with a privileged and spectacular view of the mountain. You will visit the Royal Basilica of Montserrat, which holds the famous 12th century Romanesque carving of Virgen Moreneta, the Black Virgin. The Benedict sanctuary of Montserrat has been founded at 1025 and provides a mystical backdrop for the Virgin of Montserrat, the patron saint of Catalonia who is enshrined in the monastery's Royal Basilica. Day 3 - BARCELONA – FULL DAY TOUR TO GIRONA & FIGUERES
Breakfast at the hotel. Pick up from your hotel for a full day tour to Girona & Figueres with Dali Museum. This tour offers you to visit the 2 biggest cities north of Barcelona: Girona, medieval city with one of the best preserved Jewish quarters in Europe and Figueras with its unique Dalí Theater- Museum.
First you will visit Girona, a monumental city where you can experience its history in the small streets of the old city center. You will enjoy a walking tour of the city, visiting the Cathedral in the old city centre, with its well-preserved medieval streets that lead you towards the famous pastel colored houses at the edge of the river bank. The old city centre of Girona holds an important artistic heritage.
The Dalí Theater- Museum in Figueras (30km from Girona) holds the biggest collection of artworks that represent the artistic evolution of Salvador Dalí, from his first artistic experiments until his surreal creations and his art he made during the last years of his life. Transfer back to Barcelona and balance of the day at leisure. Accommodation at hotel.
DAY 04 : BARCELONA – EXCUSRSION TO SITGES WITH FREIXENET WINE AND CAVA CELLARS
Breakfast at the hotel. Pick up from your hotel for a morning excursion to Sitges with Freixenet Wine Cava Cellars. Discover the most romantic excursion of Catalunya, visiting the Freixenet cava wine cellars, Sitges, one of the most beautiful villages of the Catalonian coast, and the Bacardi house. At the Bacardi house you will discover the famous history of the Bacardi Rum. We start the excursion with the visit of the Freixenet cava wine cellars. During the visit you will learn how the cava is produced. Cava is a sparkling white wine, like champagne. The Freixenet cava is one of the most famous cava’s of Spain with its origins in Catalunya. Next you will visit the old wine cellars, built in 1922. The visit will end with a small train ride through the modern factory of the Freixenet cava wine cellars and of course a degustation of a glass of the world famous Freixenet cava.
After the Freixenet cava wine cellar visit the Sitges, without a doubt one of the most beautiful villages of the Catalonian coast. This sailor village is one of the favorite destinations of the tourists that visit Catalunya. Its micro climate, picturesque old town center with its narrow streets, beautiful beaches , a vibrant cultural live, good food, nice and unique shops turn Sitges into the favourite destination to relax and enjoy the rest of our tour at the Mediterranean coast. Transfer back to Barcelona and balance of the day at leisure. Accommodation at the hotel.
DAY 05 : BARCELONA
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Barcelona’s airport for your flight to next destination.
