Rangat Island Andaman

Rangat Island Andaman is a pleasant island that is encircled by dense forest and has amazingly lovely seashores. Rangat is the second biggest town in the Andaman and Nicobar islands. Actually like Mayabunder, this town isn't famous with tourists. However, the tourists who do wind up here can be astounded by the attractions. There are exceptional seashores, some with volcanic rocks and others with perfect sand. There are mangrove sanctuaries and various normal waterfalls that will blow your mind.

There are around 75 little villages, and cultivation and fishing are the two prime occupations found on the island. Another popular spot at Rangat Island Andaman is the Aamkunj Beach, which is ideal for sunbathing and swimming. The seashore has been developed in a unique manner with an eco-friendly structure like eco-cottages and groves that have been named after local greenery. Moricedera is another eco-tourism spot in Rangat which famous for picnics. The spot has a grand freshwater stream. Dhaninallah Mangrove Nature Walkway which is the biggest of its sort in India is about 20 Km away from Rangat Island. It has an extremely long seashore called Dhaninallah, which is known as a ground for turtle nesting.

Yerrata Mangrove Park and Yerrata Creek are other interesting places because of their scenic location. It is a grand area dabbed with different types of mangroves.  There is a 13-meter tall mangrove see watch tower which gives a chance to have a panoramic view of the mangroves and their adjacent jungle. Cutbert Bay Beach and Panchavati Hills are the other two significant attractions of Rangat.

As it is not very famous among the tourist so there are fewer accommodation facilities are available. There are small local eateries serving great food at less price.

The approximate distance from Port Blair to Rangat Island Andaman by road is 180 Kms and it is 90 Kms via ocean.
