Dress Code

Emiratis dress in tradition is very conservatively and can be upset when westerners dress inappropriately to Islamic values. In public places such as parks, restaurants, and shopping malls you are urged to dress properly. Shorts and skirts should be of appropriate length and clothing should not be transparent or indecently expose parts of the body or display obscene offensive pictures or slogans.  Be aware that if you enter one of these areas dressed inappropriately; you may be asked to leave the larger shopping malls (most display signs warning respectable clothing should be worn).  Beachgoers should wear conservative bathing attire, and any form of nudity is strictly forbidden.  Swimwear should not be worn except for the swimming pool, water parks, or beach. Avoid attire such as miniskirts and any other overtly revealing clothing. It is not allowed as per laws. Females should not use transparent or tight clothing. Pl note during the visit to the Mosque Men and Women should wear long, loose-fitting, ankle-length trousers or skirts. Women must wear a headscarf.
